I AM WHEEZING.
I know some dickheads have now decided that Judaism is the "bad, violent, terrorist religion" and Islam is the "good, peaceful" one, which is only to be expected of white people, but how much of an issue is it currently? Like I've seen some USAmericans sharing how the Islamic faith shapes Gazans values and perseverance (good) except with that distinct white hippie "I'm about to imprint on this like the world's most racist duck" vibe (bad), but I didn't think they're already turning on Judaism in numbers.
Do they realize that Christianity is also the same kind of comfort to Christian minorities in Asia and Africa? That it was Buddhists that genocided the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Tamils in Sri Lanka? That Hindu fundamentalists are even now trying to ethnically cleanse Muslims in India? How Hindus and Christians are terrorized and persecuted in Pakistan? That Muslims have had a long history of persecuting and ethnically cleansing Jews too?
Really tired of asking y'all to be normal about people's religions man. There's no religion that's inherently violent or exceptionally peaceful. It's just like any other ideology that becomes a weapon in the hands of ethnic power. Interrogate power, not religion, and respect people's belief systems insofar as they aren't in your business.

Something that I fear will get lost in all this that I cannot in good conscience let people ignore is that James Somerton is also just incredibly racist?
Between his willingness to rip off the works of asian writers, his total *unwillingness* to fact-check any of his own claims about laws and customs in asian countries (specifically China, I'll note), his enthusiastic citing of information from right-wing cracks who openly conspiracy theorize about China, and his gleeful theory crafting of whole new conspiracy bullshit about China in his attempt to frame all media discussions through his overly clouded lens, I think it's fair to say James Somerton is just racist. There's no sugarcoating it just because he doesn't espouse direct hate or use slurs. The passive liberal brand racism is still racism. Like, someone doesn't invent fake claims about Chinese box office coverups and help spread myths about censorship laws in Japanese television code out of nowhere. These are not the ideas of a man who has healthy or well adjusted views about Asia, these are pure and simple orientalism.

my dmmd au where mink is actually a brown guy instead of being vaguely yellow and grey. left edit is just a skintone edit while the right contains more natural looking feathers. i also gave him a stronger face
i spent a while trying to pinpoint his nation. unfortunately his design contradicted itself a bit and the slapping of random feathers and dreamcatchers everywhere pisses me awf. i wish that the artists had chosen to stick with one specific nation, and the closer i looked it actually wasn't as bad as i initially thought, but there were still some pretty egregious errors made with his design that could be avoided with CURSORY research, and for a company like n+c, big as they are with the resources to do better research, is unacceptable. to be quite honest, i almost hesitate to even make this post because i really don't want people to run with the information ill be discussing. while i am a native dude that enjoys DMMD, i know so many others that dislike mink, his design, and story because he falls into quite a few racist tropes. also, just because i can kind of glean some information about mink's culture based on his character design/home design, does not mean that it's a 100% accurate portrayal of said culture.
TL;DR: i used to think he was supposed to be ojibwe, but upon further inspection i headcanon mink as navajo/dine and afronative, my reasoning below the cut. im gonna make a later post discussing the nuances of his route and the meta racism in DMMD cause its been a loooooooong time since ive played his route. while im not navajo myself (im tsalagi) i at least have the life experience to tell the goddamn difference between nations lol. i also love the inclusion of a rainbow in his design as a fellow indigenous rainbow enjoyer
note: dine and navajo are the same thing, but im gonna use navajo because thats what more people are familiar with.
the easiest way to start would be with his most obviously unique feature, his locced hair. loccing among NA nations wasn't super common, but it did happen due to the culture & rituals around hair (no cutting unless under specific circumstances, braids/plaits end up "locced" from saltwater, etc etc). to me, however, his locced hair didn't feel like a purposeful design choice. meaning, i dont think the artist chose the locced hair because they wanted to convey something traditional about mink's culture, i think they chose it just because it looks cool, or because mink kind of just falls into the "vaguely brown" category. i'd also be okay with interpreting him as black/native, which i think im gonna do because i know that there are (or was, dead fandom) plenty of black dmmd fans that identify with him
his second most unique cultural indicator is his dreamcatcher. unfortunately, dreamcatchers have kind fallen into that "vague native design" bullshit, but they do have a tribal origin: aanishinabe. again though, due to the sheer abundance of people slapping dreamcatchers onto vaguely native characters, i cant say that this is a strong enough point for me to say definitively that he's aanishinabe. also, you dont fuckin wear dreamcatchers. end of, they're not supposed to be on your body.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THEN there are even more important indicators to me that denote exactly which nation he's from.
just judging base on the patterns used on his traditional tapestries, blankets, and runners, would denote some sort of southwestern nation. now they're not accurate designs necessarily, but i can understand and see clearly where they took inspiration from.
the peace pipe on the wall in both his home and his hideout immediately indicate navajo, a southwestern nation. the fact that he has a strong religious orientation to smoking herbs (im assuming in place of tobacco) is also very navajo to me. the pottery in his home & hideout are also very strongly southwestern, as pottery was a very common art in the southwest. the fact that he has an altar at all is unique because altars are actually not common practice and are usually only found in the southwest, which is actually a good detail point whether it was intentional or not. ignore the dreamcatchers which were, again, thrown in randomly
Tumblr media
and of course his homeland contains mountains and more importantly, cliffs and canyons which is another southwest feature. there's also his fuckass cowboy boots which are VERY southwestern
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IGNORING the dreamcatcher in his hair AGAIN, he's also flexin beaded jewelry. to me, these are just like regular beads, but you could interpret them as turquoise if you wanted. traditional turquoise jewelry is usually inlayed onto silver bands or pieces as well as strung together like so. his white belt also contains a very southwestern design.
as much as some elements of his design annoy the fuck out of me, i love, love, love, love the inclusion of the rainbow in mink's character design. the rainbow is so important to so many different nations, and mink being a religious person, it actually makes a lot of sense for him to have this sort of draw to rainbows or rainbow colored items. specifically in navajo culture, rainbows are used as Bridges between The Navajo and The Holy People, basically communicating with a higher power. a rainbow is also a symbol of the 7 sacred rituals in navajo culture, one color per ritual. here's a youtube video about it, learn something
i do have some thoughts on mink de-loccing his hair in his good ending, but i think i will have to save that for another post further down the line
anways, ive made my case. mink is navajo

It's not just misogyny. It's misogynoir.
Been seeing a lot of Takes around Tumblr re the US election, pointing out that twice now America has chosen a rapist grifter over a competent woman. Which is true. But it's not just that Harris was a woman, in this case. 15 million Democratic voters who came out for Biden 4 years ago, stayed home this time. A lot of that is doubtless because of Palestine... but I'm willing to bet a lot of it is also because the American left has a huge unaddressed racism problem. It's not generally the same kind of racism as what we see from Republicans*. Instead it takes forms like holding a woman of color to a standard that not even Hilary Clinton had to meet (Harris is VP, she cannot make policy, only influence it; but even as First Lady Clinton did attempt to make policy -- the first attempt at universal healthcare. And yet people blame Harris for Biden's policies). And I've seen plenty of leftists trying to suggest she's not really a woman of color, for some reason -- some echoing Trumpers' "she's not Black" bullshit, some Orientalizing her and then insinuating that Asians aren't BIPOC. 🙄
But you cannot extricate Harris' gender from her race. You cannot acknowledge the sexism without also acknowledging the racism. That combo is misogynoir.
The American left has a racism problem. It's no longer "fashionable" to address, because "identity politics" have supposedly died out since the George Floyd protests (laughs and points at the entire culture war), but I see plenty of it everywhere -- and we do ourselves no service to pretend it wasn't a factor in this election. This time, misogyny AND racism contributed to making 15 million people who previously voted for a white guy choose to stay home. This time, it's killed democracy. Tell the truth and shame the bigots.
*except the dirtbag leftists, fuck those guys

Thanks to my post about the 28th, it’s come to my attention that a significant portion of humanity don’t read history books for fun, so here’s a few broad strokes of what, exactly, is going on with the cultural connotations of race within Dracula, as understood by an American:
European racism of the day was predominantly based on cultural ethnicity rather than skin color, and one of the main sliding scales (other than how old and prestigious the ancestry was) was how far west you were on the Eurasian continent. The further east you went, the less “civilized” things became, until you hit Asia and Oceania and just became inundated with absolutely rancid racist caricatures. Stuff from the “Orient” was there for exotic/shiny toys and moral lessons about how much better the West was, and not much else, so you can imagine what depictions of actual Asian people thus became.
(We’re faced with this east vs. west scale in Jonathan’s very first entry: Budapest straddles the line between the “civilized” western part of Europe and the “uncivilized,” opulent, and exotic world of eastern Europe. Jon is going from the known and familiar city into the mysterious, unfamiliar wilderness, an extremely common Gothic horror archetype.)
Both the fear of the unknown and the exoticizing/othering of Eastern Europe play heavily into Dracula’s themes, with the sexually predatory Count Dracula coming to England to do all sorts of unspeakable sordid things to innocent English women. (Not exactly Stoker’s finest hour, but this was a typical attitude of the day.)
Following that, it was also thought at the time that one’s moral character was essentially genetic. Certain people of certain races were predisposed to be “better” or “worse,” and your own moral character was also influenced by your parents’ status in society and behavior. A prostitute mother or a criminal father meant you would inherit their dubious moral quality, which is partially where “this person has bad blood” comes from. Bad blood is literally the negative morality passed onto you from your parents: you’ve inherited the bad qualities carried in their blood.
Linking back to the east-west thing, the further east you go -you’ve guessed it- the worse this supposed ancestral bad blood gets. People of “lesser” races included the Romani, Jews, Slovaks (and sometimes the Russians), and they were just supposed to be, like, naturally inclined to be bad. They were Programmed For Crime from the moment they were born, so you didn’t need to explain why such a character was evil when they showed up in your novel: I mean, they’re [INSERT RACE], aren’t they? It’s in the blood. No explanation needed. Everybody knows that.
The assumption of the time was that such people were literally born bad, which of course naturally justified how they were treated. When they showed up on a page, you were supposed to distrust them on sight.
Occasionally, low-class people were also treated as a race all their own, like poverty was some kind of moral failing. After all, the older, more prestigious, and wealthier your family was, the better their inherent moral quality, so poor people are obviously uncouth and have bad blood, right?
(It’s an extremely stupid circular way of thinking, but that’s bigotry for ya.)
Dracula is a nobleman with old lineage, but he’s also steeped in the flavor of Eastern Europe: “barbaric” and proud, yet initially treating Jonathan with extreme courtesy; threateningly exotic and yet also familiar with English customs. As we go through the book, you’ll see that he almost exclusively hires Romani, Jewish, or extremely poor for his henchmen: he’s a force of evil that uses other “evil” tools, who bend easier to his will than “normal” people of “proper” races.
(By all means, please pause here a moment to scrub yourself of the nauseating feeling that such a bullshit attitude evokes.)
In any case, Dracula himself is a pretty good example of all these racial ideas converging, which was also why he made such an effective monster to the Victorians: there’s just enough that’s familiar and proper in him that they couldn’t quite properly Other him, which links back to the transformative horror of vampirism turning something formerly good into something very very bad, which with their worldview of “you are born with this moral code because of racial predisposition and lineage” is just shocking. You mean this Eastern European man can infect our formerly good and pure citizens and make them act his way, just by an act of force? Uh-oh.
Anyways TLDR Dracula is a book steeped in the cultural traditions and expectations of the day which means that it’s lovely horror but also an absolute crock of shit at times due to racism (and several other -isms, which I will not cover here because I am trying not to make this an essay).

You need a serious reality check if you're genuinely convinced this hate circlejerk over a shitty object show is morally justified. It's an object show. Fiction for children. Literally grow the fuck up and go outside you aren't on some mission to make the world a better place, dedicate your time and effort to shit that actually matters instead of this bullshit.
I guess trying to help REAL SUFFERING PEOPLE is just a bit too much effort though! Keep looking away and bitching about 'posies' in ur inbox ig. Actual fucking sixth grader behavior
"Fiction for children" doesn't justify racism, misogyny, transphobia, ableism, orientalism and much more. Why would you expose a child to this garbage truck of (not so) subtle bigotry?
also you accuse me of not caring about "real suffering people". I would really love to know what have YOU done to help. Or are you just another virtue signaling loser who cares about "real suffering people" only when it comes to your favor, you little pathetic egotistical piece of posie trash?
I've done more to help suffering people than you will ever do in your life, pal. I've done activism, I've donated to people in need, I've struggled and WILL KEEP STRUGGLING to dismantle an oppressive system that creeps around every aspect of our lives, including "cartoons on youtube". Have you not heard that all art is political? Art and media affects what the masses think, may it be small or big.
also none of this is relevant to the purpose of this account. I created this blog because I have seen how y'all treat people who rightfully criticize your "blorbos" and your weird ass key 3 cult of personality. I give people a safe space to criticize and vent about the poor decisions of animationepic. If your defense of this is "it's for kids!!!!!" FUCK YOU. Genuinely.

CC3... and just my problems with sjm as a whole.
Soooooo, yeah. that was a bit disappointing. I wanna start off that due to the problematic nature of SJM I wanna make it clear I no longer financially support her. When I first began reading her books I was in high school and didn't know much about whose books I was reading. Most of it was just pick up a book, read the summary, if I liked it I bought it. But now as an adult who is on booktok and all the other bullshit (it's a whole mess) I can see all of a book and author's pros and cons and be like, "nah, I'm not doing that." And you know as a black woman, I cannot just be and do what I want and damn whoever it may impact or the consequence. I don't get to live in that world. I feel like I have somewhat of a responsibility to not contribute to the harm that the world already does to marginalized people around the world. That's just me personally, black people are not a monolith and this way of thinking doesn't apply to all of us.
Anyway all that being said, I am a book reader who is invested in whatever story they are reading and want to know what happens. So I read CC3.., but was sailing the high seas while I did it if you know what I mean. And let me just say... yikes. The problematic things that SJM does in real life and all that those issues mean really do shine in this book. I mean I always knew white authors have different experiences than me so I don't expect something that caters to me when I read their books but, idk sjm makes all the problematic things just so apparent. And it's just generally hard to read. There can't be any separation between the art and the artist in this one guys. I'm a political science and history major in real life so I spend my time studying political theory and structures of power in historical contexts. Hopefully, I can work to better understand those structures in our current present and with my intersection of activism (I am very passionate about that in my day-to-day) work to make a better world for marginalized people. So when I read SJM, I see some very troubling themes in her work. Themes that can perpetuate misogyny, racism, and imperialism. And it just makes me queasy reading it. It's not fun for me to read that. The way she used the oppression and discrimination of people as a major plot device, that the heroes have to defeat but in real life be ok with taking a birthright trip is just... a type of cognitive dissonance that I can't even put into words. and don't think I forgot the Breonna Taylor incident that she still has on her Instagram. if you don't know what I'm talking about look it up on TikTok, many black book readers have created multiple videos explaining that whole situation.
Now some people may be like, "What the fuck are you talking about. I don't see any of this." And like that's cool maybe because of what I'm studying I just see it everywhere. But I just have not been able to shake this ickiness in my gut about her work. The most thought-out example of the problematic nature of her work that I have is the description and characterization of the Illyrian people.
Now the way she physically described the illryians is as brown-skinned, with dark hair, and brown or dark eyes. This does put them in a very racially ambiguous position but to describe them as brown-skinned makes me picture brown people who in real life are racially recognized as black and brown people. People apart of brown communities are usually Southeast Asian or Arab people. They are marginalized in real life through various forms of oppression displayed in orientalism perpetuated mostly recently by the United States in the last 30 years (the war on terror, but this behavior goes back so much further). The Illyrian people's cultural characterization coupled with their physical description aligns with the negative aspects of Orientalism. Literally, the illryians are described as "backward", "barbaric", "slow to change", and stuck in timeless, old antiquated traditions that encourage the abuse of women and children. Sjm describes an indigenous people (she makes it clear that the illryians are native to the night court and nowhere else) as "savage" culturally, in their interpersonal relationships, and communally. That is just described as inherent to the people (except for a couple of characters who are "the good ones", or "not like that" and lucky enough to get away). Culturally they are described as being constantly in a state of conflict, preparing for and/or enjoying that conflict. I'm so sorry but that is Orientalism, literally the definition of how Orientalism was used to justify the colonization of the Middle East and parts of Asian during the colonization period and again when the western powers and the United States had a vested interest in interfering politically and economically in the region in the last couple of decades. That same language was used to describe the people of the Middle East and justify their oppression in the West. The exact same words. I did not understand the connection until I took a Middle East: politics and society class about two semesters ago and again that same language was used when we were learning about Orientalism. I went back to read some of acotar again and I saw all of that in relation to the illryians and I was like, "oh, oh no." I really don't know what else to say. To me, the relation is very very clear and makes my stomach just drop when reading it.
And the thing about it is it did not have to be this way, SJM did not have to characterize them like that. There is no real narrative function of this characterization, they are not the bad guys of the story or the main antagonist. In fact, the main characters need them to actually defeat the evil. SJM at the base made an interesting indigenous group of people that could have been a unique culture in her narrative landscape and added to her world-building. Instead, she wrote harmful stereotypes about vaguely racialized, marginalized people that directly mirror a marginalized group of people in the real world. Now was that her intention or just the subconscious influence of Orientalism in our society coming out without her awareness? I mean i cannot confirm from the horse's mouth that this is the case right? She has never actually said this. But her stance on current world events that are happening right (Palestine and Gaza strip) does not give me a lot of hope that she is completely unaware. But either way, this can hurt people in the real world. In the book, because the Illyrians are characterized the way that they are, the main characters are put in a moral position of opposition, that is the the dynamic. And to me, that dynamic is hard to read knowing what I know and what actually happens in real life to people that the Illyrians mirror. it begins to be super easy to just live in that moral opposition that can stripe away people's humanity and value. Azriel's contempt for his people and desire to destroy Illyria and the culture is a good example of what happens to these groups in real life. This is just one example of things in her work that can be problematic.
And listen I'm not writing this to tell you to stop reading her, to tell you what to do with your money, or who to like/support. That is not my job. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts and give whoever is reading this food for thought. And hey I might be reading too much into this, and just going way too deep. It is just hard for me to enjoy her work anymore knowing and seeing what I see. I can't really ignore that icky gut feeling.
And hey do I think sjm is a good writer? Eh... that is a whole other blog post. I could go really deep into her world-building, story choices, and what I think might just be lazy writing. But there are some aspects that I do like and are unique. But guess what? The fandom's fanfic writers are the light in the tunnel in this situation. As they often are in other fandoms. they take the actual cool and fun things that SJM created and build on them in a way that does not negatively depict the representation of real people. In a way that is not narratively disappointing. In a way that is just fun for everyone to enjoy. Free of charge they express their talent because they love to do it for however long they want to. Fanfiction is an amazing system that I hope and pray won't get messed up. Like one of my favorite creators @separatist-apologist posted about last week, "I think no matter what happens, we've all spent so much time reading fic and developing headcanons that whatever SJM does isn't going to live up to the fantasy we've created...". And I for real felt that and I just wanna shout out to all the fic writers who make this space fun despite all the fandom fuckery and SJM fuckery.
@separatist-apologist, @thehaemanthus, @the-lonelybarricade, @moodymelanist, @ablogofsapphicpanic, @vidalinav, @vikingmagic33, @c-e-d-dreamer
There are more that I probably missed. So you know thank you guys for making things fun and giving me something to read that doesn't give me an icky feeling when I read.
So yeah, thank you for coming to my ted talk. this turned out to be hella long but you know once I started I couldn't stop. If you have any questions, my ask box is open. Again these are just my thoughts. you don't have to agree and I'm not trying to change your mind. I just needed to share this somewhere.

been seeing a lot more foos bring up the problem with splat players using black skins now with the whole Jackpot scandal and reminded me of you bringin it up since I first heard about it from you. So I thought it's nice that this shit is being brought up and addressed now
I looked it up and although i dont know too much about it, um. yeah!!!!!!!! literally racism and casual racism is so prevalent in gaming spaces and splatoon is no different. Ive been looking away from splat recently, but after seeing whats going on in the community and the competitive scene is what it is, im just glad theres a lot of awareness being spread about what ever the hell is going on. I def knew that competitive players were using basically splatoon black face for really bullshit racist reasons in the japanese community, and it seems to be the same pretty much everywhere. I'm glad people are bringing it up more because the racism in this community is terrible and its one of the reasons why I wanted to distance myself from it. (im the fool because casual colorism racism anti blackness and orientalism exists in nearly every damn fandom everywhere I go I end up throwing hands)
Oh boy i cannot wait for a bunch of pale people to start guilt talking that theyre so damn scared of interacting, making, or engaging with anything that isnt white after this, good god im not ready.

YA'LL IF YOU'RE PART OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY OBSERVE YOUR PARTNER THAT HAS HOMOPHOBIC FRIENDS AND THEN MAKE A CHOICE WHETHER TO STAY OR LEAVE
i'm talking from experience. i had a partner who was sweet in the beginning until he introduced me to his friends. at first they were fine and my partner was well aware of my sexuality, that was until they started talking shit about LGBTQ+ rights. especially where i am from there's a law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. they were complaining about inequality for straight people who have to pay a fine for going against the bill. i told my partner about this issue, especially since he has a cousin that's also in the community, but he shrugged me off. he was a bystander in everything homophobic they said and i lost in when they used the f-slur. i broke up with him. turns out he was an n-word enjoyer (basically racist). his cousin was mad when i told them, but tried to excuse it as "how he grew up in his household". i think that's a load of bullshit, because i have met loads of people who have a shitty background but an endearing persona. it's a choice to be someone better, despite your circumstances.
Yeah I don’t understand how you can be friends with or date someone that is a bystander to racism/homophobia… if they don’t do anything they more than likely will vote against you anyway

Guys you just don't understand. How much I'm really wishing they ended it at mk11.
Holy shit. I really wish they stopped.
Like as much as i love alan Lee's shang tsung. I really eish they didn't do mk12/mk1.
Like i couldn't even finish storymode. I couldn't even watch it.
I just had to stop for my sanity.
Like i said I'm drunk as hell and i couldn't even stand it. I can't Imagine sober me.
I'm sorry guys,i tried.
Like nah. Cary hiroyuki tagawa still the goat.
I still stand by this shang tsung should have been the last.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just feel like so sad rn. As a fan. I truly do.
Like we got something finally that felt somewhat ok. But we took it for granted.
😔💀
And i wanna apologize in advance if i said anything bad about mk11. Despite some of the bullshit. At least it was entertaining.
I can't even stomach mk12/mk1 storymode even with my mans. I tried. I really did y'all.
And i just can't.
I don't hate mk12/mk1 shang,i hate that that version has to be tied to the most shittiest mk game i ever laid eyes upon.
It's up there with mk annihilation in terms of shit quality. Those somehow worse with the racism and orientalism. Oof. That says something considering annihilation was made in the 90s. Like yikes. 😬
But back to shang, like how you gonna make me wanna ho back to older games to find more joy? This happens with every mk game. And not other fighting games. Ask yourself why?
Why you ask? Because nrs and ed boon, don't learn from their mistakes. And actually listen to fans.
Street fighter did. Look where that got them. In better positions and standing with fans. Thus is why they continue to be a better series. Same with tekken and even same with indie and other fighting game series.
Like old school shang, still the goat. Still the best for a reason. Like holy shit
Look at him!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So shang tsimps. I beg you... play mk11 and watch the og 95 movie. Or at least give other games in the series a try.
Thank you.
Legitimately and sincerely.

Related to the previous post, but not the specific person I was referring to, but it's also really frustrating how whenever white gothic lit fandom is being racist, tokenized POC will be trotted out by whites or white-adjacent POC to shut down any criticism.
'The substack owner is South Asian!!' That literally has nothing to do with white people laughing at racism and Orientalism targeted at Arabs like it's sooo funny an Arab man is written as an animalistic sexual predator of white men, and South Asians and Arabs are not interchangeable? What is this, D*sney's Aladdin?
'Well, I am a POC, and I don't think there's anything wrong with Orientalism or the British Empire being colonizers!!' Okay, so you love being a token for the whites while whacking off to Listen to Own Voices neolib bullshit where the marginalized opinion that upholds the white supremacist status quo is the one everyone should listen to, not the POC who are sooooo mean to racist whites.

It appears I've made a grave mistake. I decided that I wanted to try and learn more about being a system, about dissociative disorders, alters, that kind of stuff. Except I didn't go to google, no I decided to look around tumblr instead. Wow. It's just a fucking war huh.
I'm seeing a lot of hypocrisy on both ends, not to mention people keep saying "stop spreading misinformation" without saying what the misinformation is. How the hell am I gonna get the right information if the only information going around is that that there's misinformation? Also, where's all the racism and transphobia that everyone says is going around? More importantly, am I really supposed to believe being a persecutor (a person who harasses or annoys someone persistently - Oxford Dictionary) is a good thing? Why is persecution (subject (someone) to hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of their ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation or their political beliefs - Oxford Dictionary) seen as a good thing at all?
I just wanted to make sense of the fuss in my head, and learn about the community while I was at it, but now I just feel like my head's gonna explode. Spreading endless hate and negativity isn't the way to make problems go away. Trauma doesn't justify spreading hate, it may provide an excuse but it is not a worthwhile reason. And if you're gonna cry about misinformation, stop labeling aesthetic blogs with dni and fuck off lists, and most certainly don't make blogs designed to spread and foster hate. The only way to stop misinformation is to make sure the correct information is available and helping to correct people when they get something wrong without telling them to chuck themselves into a river.
I'm not picking a side in this endo or anti-endo clusterfuck, to me it all just looks like gatekeeping bullshit. I just want to learn about other people's experiences and discover more about me, so if any of you reading this have information don't try and rope me into drama.
In the mean time I guess I'll just deal with whatever google has to offer. I know I've got the main bullet point symptoms for a fistful of dsm-v disorders but I expect the only useful thing I'll find is that google thinks I have some random disease in my leg.

What are your thoughts on white Jews who refuse to identify themselves as white? Obviously Nazis will never treat us like white people as we aren't the same race in their eyes. But I've seen a lot of white Jews in other contexts, begging and pleading people to not call them white, not say they have white privilege etc. because they're ethnically Jewish and therefore don't identify as white.
If you ask me I think this is a bullshit way for white Jews to try and avoid taking responsibility for their white privilege. Being Jewish does not erase my whiteness just as being Jewish does not erase a black Jew's blackness, or an Asian Jew's Asianness, and it doesn't override any other Jew of colour's ethnicity. For me to say I'm not white because I'm ethnically Jewish feels like a racist sham. White people can be Jewish. Jewish people can be white. Whiteness or lack thereof isn't something you get to choose for yourself.
Being Jewish gives me a dual ethnicity. I am Jewish and white. To say I'm not white seems unfair to Jews of color who don't get the opportunity to shrug off racism in the same way some white Jews try to shrug off their whiteness. To me it just screams that the person doesn't want to admit they're white because they don't want to acknowledge that they're more shielded from racism and racialized antisemitism than many others. Or maybe they think being white makes them less Jewish. Thoughts?
You've seen many Jews chime in, including myself, and say that even though they pass as white *sometimes*, they're victims of racialized antisemitism too. Race and ethnicity isn't so simple, and what's considered white is also different from country to country. It's not so simple. If you want to identify as white, that's your prerogative. But for many Jews, they are deeply uncomfortable with identifying as such because they know it's conditional and they know it's weaponized. Also it's interesting that you mention Asian Jews because what do you mean by Asian? On a genetic level, most Jews are West Asian, we are from the Levant. Or do you mean Indian Jews? Or perhaps Kaifeng Jews? Afghani Jews? Russian Jews? None of these groups of Jews "look" alike. What do you mean by "Asian"? Do you mean in the way race science claims there's only four "colors", and everyone else is a racial mutt? (Which by the way, is how Jews have historically been classified- racial mutts of "Oriental", "African", and "White"). Is that the system you want to abide by?
And if you claim that Jews not identifying as white is "shrugging off claims of racism", are you saying that only white people are racist? Really? Are you saying East Asian people can't be antiblack and colourist? Are you saying Black people can't be sinophobic? Are you serious?? Is that what you're implying??
Racism isn't a binary of "only white people are racist" and "all PoC are incapable of being racist towards other racial groups or ever towards themselves". Jews can be non-white and still take accountability for intracommunity racism, just like other racial groups can still take accountability for their own racism. It's not "shrugging off claims of racism", it's refusing to abide by a racist system of classification.
Ever since "race" became a topic of discussion, Jews haven't been considered white. Jews and Roma were murdered during the Holocaust because they weren't white. If it was about religion, then Jews who had converted to Christianity would have been spared. But they weren't. It's only recently that some Jews have been able to access some white privilege, but even then, it's entirely conditional on them behaving. And in Leftist circles, our conditional whiteness is used as an excuse for them to ignore the racialized antisemitism we face. Because yeah, they still have the same narrow ideas about race as Hitler did, just with a fresh coat of paint.
So go ahead, be the "good Jew" all you want to be, anon, try to police the language your Jewish brethren use (because for some reason the way other people identify bothers you). But I warn you....your good graces are conditional, and when the people you try to please turn on you, the Jewish community, even the ones you think are identifying themselves wrong, are the only ones left who will defend you.

INTRO TO S.o.CH
Welcome ! This Blog will be dedicated to the comic which share it same with it ! This written blog will lay out some principal informations:
WHAT IS SCIENCE OF CO-HABITATION ?:
S.o.CH is a crossover comic fanfic between the characters of the Books "The strange case of Dr Jekyll and M.Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson and "The island of Dr. Moreau" by H.G.Wells
The story will be alterning between a past time, when the characters were in their early adulhood years and a present time happening in the events of "The strange case of Dr Jekyll and M.Hyde".
WHO ARE THE MAIN CHARACTERS ?:
Odd enough, it is not Dr. Henry Jekyll but his ethical friend Dr. Hastie Lanyon who took the role of main character. Dr. Moreau is a co-main character, even if the story is mostly told from Lanyon's perspective.
The past story will mostly surround how a young Lanyon lives with a young Moreau as his roommate
WHAT STYLE OF STORY IT IS ?:
So far ? a slice of life. Later ? might mix up with short horror oriented moments.
Be prepare
ARE LGBTQIA+ THEMES FEATURED IN THE STORY ?:
Ofc it's about gothic literature
Yes there are queer themes and characters in the story. Mostly Achellian relationships (Men x men) but both of the main characters falls under the ace spectrum (and I hope to add lgbtqia+ representations thought my writtings)
IS THERE POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING THEMES IN THE STORY ?:
Yes, some aspects of the story might hurt individuals who deal with such situations IRL or are easily triggers by certain imagery. SO here are (so far) planned themes / imagery that might be source of triggers. Btw, I must say that I will NEVER bring up themes such as S.A in the story, y'all are safe on this
Violence
surrealist / disturbing (on purpose) imagery
social isolation
Mental illnesses and it degradation
Death (often mentionned, often visually cersored, excepted skeletons)
Toxic relashionships in families
probably more, I'll keep this updated
BOUNDARIES LIST ?:
Fanarts are obviously allowed, same for fanfics (not that I think it would happens) BUT PLEASE if you do not sfw things don't send it to me
Don't be creepy in the comments of any posts, if you simp for a character that's good, but no need to "mommy sorry" under every posts
If a character is canonically Ace, Aro, or AroAce, don't put them in situations that they wouldn't want to be.
No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, abelism, antisemitism, islamophobia or any other kind of bigotery on this page. Keep you bullshit ideologies for youself
I don't support proshipping, so please don't do it (proshipping is shipping incest, adult x minors, abuser x abused, etc)..
Be Kind to each others, each humans deserve respect for simply being humans :>
THANKS FOR READING

idk why, but something that pings my red flag intuition when watching these random-ass "top X things in games" videos is when the very white narrators get to japanese games and then you're suddenly hearing a flurry of "kingdom hearts bullshit" when they're describing thing about those japanese games. doubly so when it's a square enix game with barely a mention of nomura being part of its production
im so fucking side-eyeing that behavior, tbh, because it just reeks of... i dunno, not being able to engage with the media you're immersing yourself into? exotifying non-western media to the point when things that are too sincere or even just a hint of complexity is "bullshit"? plain orientalism and/or racism?
it's annoying, i guess
